Hello there, I’m Janette. I draw, paint, and occasionally write and illustrate poems - mostly haiku. I work in various art media, and sometimes, with my fingertip on an iPad. I live in lovely Australia.

Love it. This is like my drying method, only mine are in a dish-rack in the sink. It’s amazing how much stuff I can pile on!

Thank you…I have a sink rack too. 🙂 I usually pick a pretty tea-towel to throw over it, and let the dishes dry underneath! I don’t have a dishwasher…never wanted one. It seems to me with all the stacking and unstacking…you could have the dishes done by then, with out all that fuss.

I have dishwasher, but often wish I didn’t. It just seems like such a waste of water,

From now on I’ll look for the extraordinary in my ordinary piles; now that I know what to look for.

I like the brightness and simplicity of this. May I ask what you used for the line work?

Thank you.. I drew this with a fineliner pen – called Artline 200 fine 0.4. It is just an inexpensive one from the supermarket..does a great job. Runs with water; which I love! This is from a collection I did about ten or so years ago now.
Though I’m really enjoying using art apps a lot lately, reckon I’ll have a scribble around with a fineliner pen and some watercolours again soon. I do have some great Windsor and Newton watercolours; but often use Crayola watercolours, a children’s brand, which have lovely “lolly” colours as I call them. Pretty sure I used the Crayola brand for this one. By the way; love your drawings! All the best, Janette. 🙂

Thank you – interesting that you get varied thickness with the fine liner and that it washes. I like these variations. ‘Lolly’ colours? I’m enjoying those as well (with textas) – perfect for the lightness of heart that comes with Spring. Have a lovely weekend!
