Used: Pencil, Crayon, Charcoal…Sponge, Smudge tools, in the “Art Set Pro” app.

Another one of my “face” drawings. I talk more about them in my post called “About Drawing Faces”.

In “Art Set Pro” there is a wide range of paper colours and textures to choose from. This one here, has a lovely weave and soft colour.  I’ll be tryng it out again; very suitable for skin tones.

I put the grey border around this drawing in the “Pic Collage” app; and then, to make the border thinner I cropped it a bit in the “Photos” app.

There’s more about the apps I use on my page, “Some App Information”.

I love how the “Art Set Pro” media has such a natural look to it. A lot of the media in other (but certainly not all) art apps I’ve tried, tends to look too synthetic for my liking.

It’s all good fun, and glad for the opportunity to be able to draw and paint on an iPad. But, as I’ve often said; lots of great drawing can be done with just a pencil and paper!

Have a great day.

    1. Such a compliment! Thank you! You show a lovely sensitive touch in your artwork. All your miniatures are beautiful and I really enjoy the bird ones. I love birds and I’m particularly fond of miniatures. You’ve inspired to do some; haven’t drawn or painted any in a while. There’s something quite fascinating about doing tiny detailed artwork. Look forward to your future posts. 🙂

  1. HI Janette…Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking…..I don’t have an iPad but have tried a few apps on my iPhone…They are fun but I think I’d miss the tactile part of painting on paper and canvas…. Love your work ……

    1. Hi Wendie,
Thank you. Your work is so lovely! I know what you mean about the tactile experience. I’ve also found many art apps fun to use, but of course lacking in that area. However, when I paint or draw using the media in the “Art Se Pro” app, I find the naturalistic qualities of it’s paint, oil pastel..and more; so amazing, that it provides quite a rewarding and satisfying experience. (There’s only few other art apps – so far – which I really like). I surprise myself that, in the past year or so, I’ve hardly used paper and my beloved pencils and watercolours! Though I’ll probably do a little of that soon. Certainly one type of media, doesn’t rule out another. I think the larger iPad screen may also help the enjoyment of using art apps. Hope you get to give “Art Set Pro” a try; if you haven’t already.
I see you work in acrylics. I’ve always preferred using them, to oil paints. I love your writing as well as your art, and I’m really looking forward to seeing your future posts. 🙂
