This is from my handmade book, “Poems from Home: A Collection of Illustrated Haiku”. I’ve shared quite a few here already, with still more to come. I wrote and drew them about 15 years or so ago, during the very busy days of bringing up four lively and lovely boys – young men now.
I had a sort of a map of them on the wall in the kitchen; shaping and fine tuning the words and pics, in between cooking, doing dishes, and so many other things – and these everyday scenes mostly feature in them.
The kitchen still sometimes serves as a studio for my art and words. (Ahh… a sliver of alliteration in this last line, and a little lick of it in this line, as well)
As each poem and illustration were designed to be presented together, I think they could also be called a “haiga”. I want to get back to writing more poems…with illustrations…given time.
Enjoy your weekend, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂
