Mixed Media Flowers

I drew this with a black inkpen and watersoluble graphite crayon on paper. With my iPad I took a snap of it, then sent it to my inkjet printer. I printed it (with the printer also set to black and white) onto “rough” A5 cotton watercolour paper.

It was fun working/playing over it with watercolour washes, and I like how the tonal values show through. I also added a little colour pencil and white gouache.

I put a border around it in the “Pages” app, then screen shot it to get it back into my iPad photo library – where I did a final edit before uploading here. My iPad has proved so versatile for my various online (and offline) ventures. Though I very occasionally have to do work-arounds, I still prefer it to using a “clunky” computer; but then I’ve never used computers much at all.

As with some of my watercolours, I may add an acrylic “isolation” coat, and then give it a satin varnish finish. This allows for a display with out glass – yay!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Thanks for stopping by – I plan to be back posting here early in 2023.
