Began with graphite pencil on paper, then scanned the drawing into the iPad. I then brought it into the “Procreate” app where I drew in some colour (freehand) with the burnt tree and 4B charcoal, and darkened some of the line work with the ink bleed pen. *I post here usually every two to 3 weeks; more... An Illustrated Poem From My “Haiku from Home” Book
Oh the endless (mini) dramas of spilt milk...(or other liquids). These deserve to feature in a splash of paint, and a dash of words. A frequent scene when I had a household of young children. This is another poem from my collection of illustrated haiku/haiga. I wrote and drew them many years ago, in a... Continue Reading →
Water Soluble Pencils, Art App Media – on Acrylic Paper
I began this watercolour pencil drawing/painting above, with a blue Inktense pencil, then used Caran D’Ache Supra Soft watersoluble colour pencils, on Canson A4 245gsm acrylic paper. Again, as in this previous post, in the gallery of pics, I managed to chop of the top of the head! After I scanned it into the iPad, I fixed... Continue Reading →
A Mix of Art Media – Some Recent Works

Flowers 1.V – Inktense Pencil and Art App Media – and a Video

From that app I took it into the iPad’s photo section, and from there into the Procreate app. That’s where I tidied up around the edges of the scanned image, and then... Continue Reading →
Watercolour, Gouache, Art App Media – Some Works in Progress
Since returning to using more of my traditional art media, I’m really enjoying the interplay between working both, off screen and on screen - reminds me of Star trek terminology - such as: catching a pencil sketch with the “Scanner Pro” app, playing about with it in an art app... printing it... then perhaps applying... A linocut Print from Way Back
*Back here posting in late Feb 2018. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! A scan of linocut print from quite a few years ago. Added a touch more work in “Procreate”, and put on the words in the “Phonto” app. Decided it looked fine without colour. I’ve printed some cards from the scan. Thank... Continue Reading →
Watercolour Wanderings
To get on with some watercolour practice, I’ve pre-sliced quite a lot of various types of watercolour paper into A5 size and smaller. Generally I like to work fairly small on paper and canvas; usually no bigger than an A3 size. It enables me to begin and finish something in a shorter space of time.... Continue Reading →
