Drawn freehand, with a dip of my fingertip, into some pretty colours in the Procreate app. In this app I used: gesinski ink, pencil, and the smudge tool set to gesinski ink.
Some Landscape Sketches
*Began this with quick graphite pencil lines, did a little shading....then added some coloured pencil work, watercolour washes, and a little gouache. These are drawn from memory and imagination. I like to begin something with a rush of linework, whether I have visual information to work from or not. It’s kind of fun not knowing exactly... Continue Reading →
Ink pen, and a Mix of Media.
Began with a quick sketch, using a black Uni pin fine line, pigment ink pen, on Mi-Teintes warm brown, 160gsm pastel paper. Added some colour with Inktense block washes, then added coloured pencil and graphite pencil. Softened the face a little with the smudge tool in the Procreate app, and applied a few more white... This is the size of ACEO art cards; popular with some artists. I scanned it into the iPad with the “Scanner Pro” app. Then printed... Continue Reading →
Paint, Pencils and Pixels

After an intensive time (I’m not one to do things by half measures) with iPad art in these past few years, it was a bit strange to be dipping brushes into water,... Continue Reading →
Some Art in Various Stages of Finish – on Paper and on the iPad
I began this with graphite pencil and watercolour on paper, then with the “Scanner Pro” app brought it into the iPad. I had not left enough white on the flowers, so in the “Procreate” app I lifted some whites out (freehand) with the eraser. Also added a little more colour here and there before printing...
