A quick sketch in ink pen, with washes of watercolour. Inspired by a vase of Lilies on the dining table. Enjoy your day!
Kangaroo Card – Pencil with Art App Media
The third and final - at least for now - in this series of Australian native wildlife drawings. I used the graphite pencil again on the “Reeves” 300gsm medium tooth, watercolour paper. And also applied freehand art app media in the Procreate app, to create a pastel looking finish. *Below is a video of the... Continue Reading →
Kookaburra Card – Pencil Drawing with Art App Media.
As in my Koala drawing, I drew this Kookaburra with a graphite pencil on 300gsm, “Reeves medium surface” watercolour paper, and then scanned it in with the “Scanner Pro” app. And again I used the “artist crayon” and “pencil” in the Procreate app, to add (freehand) the colour work; which gives it a lovely pastel... In the Pink – Landscape Drawing
Drawn freehand, with a dip of my fingertip, into some pretty colours in the Procreate app. In this app I used: gesinski ink, pencil, and the smudge tool set to gesinski ink.
Lively Lines and Brushstrokes….on the iPad, and on Paper.

There is a delightful, soft “feel” to the paint, and the smudge tool. Though I’ve explored this app for a while, I’m yet to try all it’s brushes, pens and... Continue Reading →
Some Recent Work
*Began with graphite pencil, on approx. 12cm x 17cm - 5” x 7” Canson 220gsm paper; with a little white oil pastel to provide some highlights. It’s only when adding the watercolour washes, that I could clearly see where I’d applied the oil pastel - which was part of the fun. I also used a... Continue Reading →
A Few Recent Works – Ink Pen, Watercolour, Gouache…
With all the flourishing of lines, and whooshing down of watercolour lately, I’m not sure If I did washes first in this one, or the ink pen, a bit of both I think... I used the “Kuretake Gansai Tambi” watercolours, I bought a little while back. Love the large pans of colour. I used the Scanner... Continue Reading →
