We have some lovely native animals and birds here in Australia, and I thought it’d be fun to make a few drawings/paintings of some of them. These will be added to other art images I personally print as Art cards, which I sometimes sell locally. I began my Koala drawing with a graphite pencil sketch... Continue Reading →
In the Pink – Landscape Drawing
Drawn freehand, with a dip of my fingertip, into some pretty colours in the Procreate app. In this app I used: gesinski ink, pencil, and the smudge tool set to gesinski ink.
*Watercolour and inkpen. This first small painting is of a bunch of gumleaves I picked and placed in a glass vase on the kitchen windowsill. They were quite dry (like our weather around here) and formed intriguing sculptural shapes. Another Gumleave painting here. Below, a windowsill view with fruit - drawn from memory and imagination.... *A play with the delightful Gesinski Ink in Procreate. I also used the smudge tool, set to Gesinski Ink, and swished it over some areas. This adds a further painterly effect. I plan to do a print of it. I think a textured watercolour paper would suit this image. Firstly, as is my usual practice,... Continue Reading →
*Dark sepia, Faber Castell artist pen, Inktense block and watercolour washes, drawn in a favourite A4 sketch journal. Painted with watercolour and a black Pentel Brush pen in my A4 journal. They began as seperate pieces, but seem to work well together. Drawn with my finger, using the lovely ink in the Zen Brush 2... Continue Reading →
Some Landscape Sketches
*Began this with quick graphite pencil lines, did a little shading....then added some coloured pencil work, watercolour washes, and a little gouache. These are drawn from memory and imagination. I like to begin something with a rush of linework, whether I have visual information to work from or not. It’s kind of fun not knowing exactly... Continue Reading →
