Drawn freehand, with my fingertip, using the delightful swishy Gesinski ink, in the Procreate app. I also used the smudge tool set to Gesinski ink, and some pencil in the app. I have a selection below of some of the many sketching, paintings and dabblings, from the past few months. After viewing my sketches/paintings...(I tack... Continue Reading →
Pear-lescent – in an Art App, and on Canvas
My perusal (or perhaps pear - rusal) of pears continues; a long time favourite subject matter. And as in this previous post here, an opportunity for more word play. I began this drawing “Pear-lescent” freehand with my fingertip, in the Art Set Pro app; and then finished it in Procreate. Below, adding more media in Procreate. As... Continue Reading →
Kangaroo Card – Pencil with Art App Media
The third and final - at least for now - in this series of Australian native wildlife drawings. I used the graphite pencil again on the “Reeves” 300gsm medium tooth, watercolour paper. And also applied freehand art app media in the Procreate app, to create a pastel looking finish. *Below is a video of the... Continue Reading →
Kookaburra Card – Pencil Drawing with Art App Media.
As in my Koala drawing, I drew this Kookaburra with a graphite pencil on 300gsm, “Reeves medium surface” watercolour paper, and then scanned it in with the “Scanner Pro” app. And again I used the “artist crayon” and “pencil” in the Procreate app, to add (freehand) the colour work; which gives it a lovely pastel... These will be added to other art images I personally print as Art cards, which I sometimes sell locally. I began my Koala drawing with a graphite pencil sketch... Continue Reading →
In the Pink – Landscape Drawing
Drawn freehand, with a dip of my fingertip, into some pretty colours in the Procreate app. In this app I used: gesinski ink, pencil, and the smudge tool set to gesinski ink.
*Watercolour and inkpen. This first small painting is of a bunch of gumleaves I picked and placed in a glass vase on the kitchen windowsill. They were quite dry (like our weather around here) and formed intriguing sculptural shapes. Another Gumleave painting here. Below, a windowsill view with fruit - drawn from memory and imagination.... Lively Lines and Brushstrokes….on the iPad, and on Paper.
I painted this (freehand, with my finger) using the “old brush” in the Procreate app, and also used the smudge tool set to “old brush”. There is a delightful, soft “feel” to the paint, and the smudge tool. Though I’ve explored this app for a while, I’m yet to try all it’s brushes, pens and... Continue Reading →
